He has been the brass coach for the Mississauga Youth Orchestra, adjudicated bands at Musicfest Canada, been on the faculty of many summer music camps and visited schools as part of the Mississauga Symphony’s “Musical Ambassadors” and the Peel District School Board “Meet a Musician” Program. In 2007 he started the BrassArts Trombone Camp in Mississauga, a yearly five day workshop in which students take part in clinics, workshops, recitals, rehearsals and performances. In December of 2010, Don was invited to visited Brasil giving a number of workshops and clinics at various universities and conservatories, all sponsored by Edwards.

In 1997 he founded the trombone trio BrassArts, a professional ensemble devoted to performing music for 3 trombones. BrassArts have enjoyed much success since performing concerts, giving workshops and educational concerts, recording and exploring different and new works for trombone trio.
